Assam Tourism Development Corporation has collaborated with National Geographic and Fox Life channel to create this film that showcases what Assam has to offer to the domestic and foreign traveller. Produced and directed by an Assamese, Mumbai based creative director and entrepreneur Jyotshna Kalita for her company Halcyon Media, the film’s trailer has already generated huge response and promises to be a toast to the eye and delight to the travelling kind. Commenting on the endeavour Jyotshna said: “Assam has tourism potential like no other state in the country. It is an honour that NGC, Fox has invited me to make this film for them, i could use this opportunity to create something of impact to benefit my state and it’s economy. The shoot commenced in April last year and we took almost a year to complete the project as the host, Sarah Todd, is based in Australia and she had to keep flying down for the film. We involved a young local crew to make the film as well as got some seasoned professionals from Delhi and Mumbai. It was a super fun experience. Sarah has been very kind and she almost fell in love with Assam. Being a chef she relished the Assamese food and learnt a few Assamese dishes. You will see brilliant time lapses in the film, done by Anurag Jetly and Bikash Kalita -which has lended it the beauty and charm. I hope people like the film.’
Jyotshna has been working in mainstream television and advertising industry for about 14 years. She has created content for various national platforms as well as regional in Assam. She founded Halcyon Media Pvt Ltd, a full service advertising agency 3 years ago and currently busy setting up her second venture, a content production company in the protected intellectual property space with one of Indian media’s most prominent professionals.

Commenting on her journey in Assam Sarah says: I have travelled far and wide in the world. What attracted me most in Assam was it’s loving and compassionate people and their hospitality. The food was awesome, the nature in spring and the mighty river Bramhaputra blew my mind away. I hope to visit the state again soon some day.
Assam Tourism MD Kausar Hilaly told us about the film: The capsules of different duration that we did with Priyanka Chopra and the 44 minute film that we are doing now are not linked. These two projects are done by different teams and you will realise that when you watch it. Its a beautiful documentary shot superbly. Its kind of a travelogue where Sarah takes a road trip from Guwahati to Majuli.
The film will premiere today on Fox life at 8 PM in the evening and will be aired on both NGC India and Fox life multiple times in next couple of weeks.
